I Am Paying with Crypto and I Have to Fill in the Form with My Personal Information

Learn about the new regulatory requirements for crypto payments and why personal information may be requested during the payment process.

Updated over 3 months ago

When making a payment with cryptocurrency, you may be asked to fill in a form with your personal information. This is a part of new regulatory requirements being implemented in 2025.

Due to upcoming regulatory changes, the crypto industry is adjusting to new guidelines. Key among these are the Travel Rule and Transfer of Funds Regulation (TFR), which are designed to help prevent money laundering and terrorist financing.

As part of these regulations, when paying with cryptocurrency, the payment processor may require your name, country of residence, and date of birth. If your payment exceeds certain thresholds, you may be asked to provide additional details either on the payment page or through email.
